This month's blog was written to the sounds of Kalos Eidos Skopeo, the 2017 album from Sydney's own Comacozer out on Headspin Records. Listen to the album here!
What to Expect from Independent Label Market 2019
Hi everyone, sorry for the delay in getting another blog out there to you. This month has been thick and fast both in terms of Copper Feast, and in my personal life, but hopefully there'll be some exciting news to share with you all soon as we look into the second half of 2019 and beyond. Something to remind you all of now however, is that as of the time of writing, there is a week left to make an order sometime in June to be entered into the competition to win a signed print from Psychedelic Porn Crumpets!
In other exciting news, we are burning through our allocation of School Disco's self titled debut that was annouced for pre-order late last month, so if you still have your eye on a copy get in there quick! There are also a couple of test pressings left for this for those that are interested! Oh, and by the time you've read next month's blog post, the full run of our UK exclusive pressing of Pseudo Mind Hive's debut, From Elsewhere will be with us and shipping out to you all.
In the meantime however, we snuck the news in that on the 13th July, I will be bringing Copper Feast along to the Independent Label Market in London at Coal Drops Yard, King's Cross. For those not aware of the Independent Label Market, they have been going now since 2011, hosting a number of markets every year in Europe. The flagship market usually occurs once a year in London, with several others in Brussels, Paris, Berlin, Copenhagen and Bristol.
I've been going along to ILM for the last few years as a fan whenever it has passed through London, and it's always been a fantastic opportunity for folks to meet and chat to Label founders, as well as get their hands on a selection of market exclusives and rarities from the label (test pressings, signed copies, etc). I love the ILM!
This year will be my first year attending as one of the labels and I just can't wait to meet everyone and get Copper Feast and our fantastic releases out their to the UK public some more. ILM offers us an amazing opportunity to showcase our hard work to the public that, for a lot of us smaller labels, is otherwise very difficult. With ILM expecting tens of thousands of visitors on the day, we are going in hopeful that we can turn a few new heads to the likes of Right Shitty, Foot and Pseudo Mind Hive.

Not only that, but with this enterprise literally being a fulfillment of a long-held ambition of mine, every little piece of positive feedback we receive gives me an amazing feeling of pride and happiness at what Copper Feast has achieved this year, which is why I can't wait to meet you guys that are planning on popping down for the day!
I'll be bringing along all of our releases to date (including PMH which should have arrived by then) plus a handful of test pressings of our releases. Also available with be 5 (five) copies of Right Shitty's split cassette with Deathsticks from 2017! Not only that, but we will be bringing along our remaining stock from Magnetic Eye Records, plus a limited amount of stock from Krautpop! Records. Last but not least, there'll be freebie stickers (leftovers might find there way into parcels after the market) and our brand new range of Copper Feast T-shirts, of which there are a very limited quantity of each size. Exciting times!

Leftover stock will find its way onto the webstore, though this may well be the last chance to grab test pressings, our variant of Polygondwanaland or the Cosmic Landscape variant of Buffalo as they are all close to selling out, and likely will do at ILM!
Anyhow, that's what you can expect from us at ILM London 2019, as well as fat stacks of great stuff from the other labels in attendance plus great music and beer from a selection of DJs and London Brewers Market. I guess my parting thought on the market would be that given how fantastic an opportunity it is for us independent labels, an expansion outside of Europe and into North America and Australia would be an equally brilliant move to aid the survivial of the exciting labels in these territories...we can only hope!
Until next time,
Callum
